We are looking to add a full-time Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to our team in Beltsville, MD. This position will maintain dependable operations of production and quality systems by ensuring safe and efficient function of all machinery and mechanical equipment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs preventive/corrective maintenance, calibration, and upkeep of manufacturing and production equipment by using a computerized maintenance management system CMMS

Analyzes equipment performance and proposes strategies to improve the reliability of systems.

Support engineering projects including but not limited to equipment installation, commissioning, and validation process.

Verify mechanical and electrical drawings for accuracy.

Maintains accurate records of parts, materials, and consumables used during the performance of work.

Assists with the proposal and recommendation for the purchase of equipment and services.

Assist in equipment failure root cause analysis with a prompt resolution.

Uses key and critical process parameters and their associated critical quality attributes to assist in the resolution of equipment performance issues.

Collaborate with production team to ensure minimal downtime and maximum productivity

Assist in overseeing contractor activities, as required.

Perform troubleshooting of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and control systems.

Fabricate repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.

Maintain parts, tools, and supplies inventory by following established programs within the department.

Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.

Assist in overseeing contractor activities, as required.

Ability to assist with the identification and sourcing of parts and supplies.

Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with established procedures, rules, and regulations.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or GED

3+ years of Industrial Maintenance experience with Multi-crafted skills.

Working knowledge of electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics and mechanics.

  • Capable of operating hand, power and specialized tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, gauges and dials

Proven steady work history.

LANGUAGE / SPEAKING SKILLS:

English

Constant need 66% to 100% of the time to verbally communicate with staff and vendors.

MATHMATICAL SKILLS:

Basic math, basic geometry, basic algebra, tolerances, and units of measurement.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

Basic computer skills are necessary.

HIGH. Must be able to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect pertinent data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and initiate appropriate course of action. Must effectively convey ideas, images and goals to a diverse group of personalities.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

None required Licensed to operate forklift equipment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Constant need 66% to 100% of the time to be on feet.

Have constant need 66% to 100% of the time to perform the following physical activities:

Bend/Stoop/Squat/Kneel - Perform routine maintenance/repairs, pick up tools and needed equipment.

Push or Pull - Move equipment, tools, etc.

Reach Above Shoulder - Perform routine maintenance/repairs, stock and remove equipment, parts, etc.

Climb Ladders and Stairs Perform routine maintenance/repairs on rooftops and or 2nd level mezzanines.

Grasp/Grip/Turning - Handle tools and equipment, perform routine maintenance/repairs.

Finger Dexterity - Handle tools and equipment, perform routine maintenance/repairs.

Writing - Document maintenance inventory, requisition requests, other required maintenance reports.

Lifting/carrying supplies, replacement parts, ladders, etc.:

o Over 150 lbs. Rare need less than 1% of the time

o 75 - 150 lbs. Occasional need 1% to 33% of the time

o 25 - 75 lbs. Frequent need 33% to 66% of the time

o 1 - 25 lbs. Constant need 66% to 100% of the time

o NOTE: Lifting and carrying of weights exceeding 50 lbs. should be accomplished with assistance from one or more persons, or with an engineered lifting device.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Indoors 66% to 100% of the time

Frequently outdoors 33% to 66% of the time

All conditions, often for extended periods.

Occasional exposure 1% to 33% of time to paint fumes, solvents, adhesives, etc.

Frequent need 33% to 66% of the time to work in awkward and confining positions.
